Ohio State Buckeyes star running back Ezekiel Elliott is hoping to blow scouts in Indianapolis away at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine. However, he will also be sending a message much bigger than football.
Elliott took to Twitter on Friday prior to on-field workouts for the group of running backs to announce he will be raising awareness for domestic violence during the combine.
Elliott will be working out in custom cleats which will later be auctioned for charity.
Check out the cleats below:
Today I will be wearing these customized cleats during the combine to help raise awareness for victims of domestic violence. Both pairs will be auctioned off for charity and the proceeds will go to charities in Columbus, Ohio and St. Louis, MO that support and help victims of domestic violence. Join me in the fight to help end domestic violence! Follow this hashtag to lend your support and stay informed of the charity auction. #RunEZE
It’s a very classy gesture from Ezekiel Elliott and one that shows an impressive sense of maturity.
Considering all of the domestic violence issues the league has faced in recent years, it’s nice to see someone doing something positive regarding the issue.
