Last week, the Buffalo Bulls football program experienced a pretty scary situation when defensive end Solomon Jackson collapsed during a conditioning session and had to be hospitalized due to a “medical emergency.” That situation took a grave turn as it was announced that he had sadly passed away Monday night.
Jackson’s passing happened just a week after he collapsed during the workout, after which he was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Buffalo athletic director Allen Greene released a statement regarding Jackson’s passing, which you can read in full here.
“It is with deep sadness that I write to share that we have lost one of our own, UB football player Solomon Jackson, who passed away last night. Our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies go out to Solomon’s family as together we mourn his tragic and untimely death.”
Jackson moved down from linebacker to defensive end in 2015 and started seven games for the Bulls, six of which were the last six games of the season.
Campus Sports would like send their condolences to the Jackson family and the entire Buffalo athletics program.
