Video: Penn State RB Saquon Barkley power cleans 390 pounds

One of the most surprising freshman players in the country during the 2015 season was Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. He had one of the best showings on the season as he rushed for 1,076 yards and seven touchdowns.

He is looking to improve off of those numbers in 2016 and he seems to be hard at work in the weight room to do just that. I don’t think anyone knew, however, just how strong the rising sophomore was.

Penn State wide receiver coach Josh Gattis posted a video of Barkley power cleaning 390 pounds and captioned it as him being “the best RB in the country.”

#BeastMode the best RB in the country @saquonb21 show me anyone who can do this! 390 LB Clean no strap!#FreakShow pic.twitter.com/vvA0G8NIPg

I don’t think too many people are going to disagree with Coach Gattis is calling him one of the best in the country. If he isn’t considered as such next year, he certainly will be over the next few seasons.

Barkley has a great chance to do something special and if he continues to get stronger, there’s not a lot anyone can do to stop him.
