Jerry Jones: Cowboys will not draft a QB at No. 4

Despite many reports saying that the Dallas Cowboys could take a quarterback with the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft this year, it looks like Jerry Jones and company could have very different plans.

The Cowboys know they need to address other positions at this point, so while taking a quarterback is a priority, it is certainly not their top one.

Jones recently told NFL.com’s Gil Brandt that they would consider other options with their top-five pick.

“Jerry told me recently that he will unequivocally not take a quarterback at No. 4, where the Cowboys draft this year. I believe him,” Brandt said in a review of possible quarterback options for the Cowboys.

Jones, however, did say earlier this week that he would like to have a Brett Favre-Aaron Rodgers type situation with their future signal caller learning behind Tony Romo before taking over.

There are a few other options the Cowboys could pick from later on in the draft, so maybe answering some other questions first would likely be their best option.
