Gators set projected alcohol revenue at $145,000

The Florida Gators are doing something historic this year as they are looking to become the first SEC team to serve alcohol at home football and basketball games starting in August. While it won’t be sold to the general public, as the conference doesn’t allow that, it is still a huge step in getting towards that in the near future.

It looks like the Gators are taking that into account in their recent projected revenue reports. According to Forbes Magazine, the Gators only project about $145,000 in alcohol sales for the coming fiscal year.

This makes sense seeing as how only fans who purchase premium seating will be allowed to buy alcohol. That makes up for nearly 7.5-percent of fans at football games and 6.5-percent at basketball games.

That is a pretty small projection, but it is probably an accurate projection. The interesting thing to watch this time next year is if the Gator fans blow that number out of the water.

If so, you could begin seeing other schools follow their trend in the coming years.
