Last season, the former St. Louis Rams added a big piece to their defensive line when they signed defensive tackle Nick Fairley, a former first round pick of the Detroit Lions, to a one-year contract.
Now, it seems likely that he will not be heading west with the team as they make the move to Los Angeles.
However, he probably won’t be floating around as a free agent for very long. In fact, it looks like one East Coast team is interested in bringing him in as Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the New York Jets would love to add Fairley to their roster.

Fairley has spent five years in the NFL since being drafted by the Lions in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has recorded 84 tackles and 14 sacks during his career.
With the Jets locking up defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson for the 2016 season and possibly further into the future, they would benefit greatly from having Fairley on the field for them.
