West Texas A&M students to vote on $19 million stadium project

The West Texas A&M student body is going to get an opportunity to approve or deny a potential $19 million stadium project. The vote will come on March 29 and 30, with a direct impact on the students.

If the stadium is approved, students will watch tuition rise between $22 and $32 per credit hour. The proposed increase in price would remain until the stadium is paid off, which could take 20-35 years. The stadium would be set to open in 2018.

There is some good news for current students, however.

According to the report, “current students will see no increase.”

That’s good news for current students, so it will be interesting to see how that impacts their decision on the vote.

If the stadium project is approved, the design project will begin immediately and construction should begin by the spring of 2017.
