One position the Oakland Raiders were looking to fill this offseason was at the cornerback position. It looks like the team is on that path now as they signed former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith.
The deal is reportedly for four years and worth $40 million. This is a huge pickup for the Raiders as they are looking to distance themselves from former first-round draft pick D.J. Hayden.

Since being drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2009, Sean Smith has had a great career knocking down passes. He has recorded 87 pass deflections and has a great knack for grabbing the ball as well, pulling in ten interceptions in that time as well.
The Raiders could benefit from having a player like this on their team as they are desperate for help in pass coverage. If they are to draft another big-name cornerback in April, this could be the start of the rebuilding process in Oakland.
