One of the most inspiring teams in the country during the 2015-16 season is the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans. The team has had a magical season and they capped it off with a win in the Sun Belt Conference tournament championship game on Sunday.
The Trojans, led by first-year head coach Chris Beard, entered the game looking to complete their run that saw them more than double their win total from the previous season. They used a dominant second half to pull off the 70-50 win over Louisiana-Monroe to get their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2011.
The Warhawks got up on the Trojans in the first half, taking a 33-28 lead into the locker room. However, the Trojans did exactly what they have been all season long and used their defense to pull away.
The Trojans outscored the Warhawks 42-17 in the second half with forward Roger Woods scoring 19 and snagging nine rebounds to help his team to the win. For Beard, he started off his career as a head coach with a 29-4 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
