Buzzer beater sends CSU-Bakersfield to NCAA Tournament for first time ever

14 NCAA Tournament tickets were waiting to punched on Saturday and the final one of the day was done so early into Sunday morning. The CSU-Bakersfield Roadrunners were looking for their first Tournament appearance and needed a huge upset to get there.

It looked like they would be going to overtime against the defending WAC champions, New Mexico State, but guard Dedrick Basile had something to say about it. He drained a buzzer-beating three-point shot and gave his team the 57-54 win.

The Roadrunners have won three national titles in the past, but that was at the Division II level. They moved up to Division I in 2007 and have been looking to get over the hump ever since.

This is certainly an exciting way to do just that. There’s no telling where the team will be sitting come Selection Sunday tomorrow evening, but the most important thing is that they are in, no matter what.
