NCAA Tournament 2016: Tar Heels facing early exit?

The North Carolina Tar Heels were picked as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday and they are pretty much favored by a lot of people to represent their region in the Final Four.

However, there are a few people that could see the ACC regular season and tournament champions losing pretty early on this year.

ESPN’s Myron Medcalf released his ten bold predictions for the NCAA Tournament on Monday and he has the Tar Heels dropping out of the tournament by the end of the first week. This would mean that the team would fall to No. 8 USC or No. 9 Providence and Medcalf thinks it is the latter.

“North Carolina is a strong group and favored by many to cut down the nets in Houston. But Tar Heels fans should keep the tissues close because Providence will defeat USC in the opening round and upset North Carolina in the second round.”

He also went on to say that he believes the Kentucky Wildcats, a surprising No. 4 seed, would suffer a crushing fate, losing to the Stony Brook Seawolves. This would be especially embarrassing since the Seawolves are making their first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

These are just two of his bold predictions that would shock everyone in the NCAA Tournament. March Madness is such a fun time for college basketball fans everywhere and there are bound to be upsets every year.

I am sure the Tar Heels are hoping they aren’t one of them.
