Eugene Monroe urges players to donate to marijuana research

Recreational marijuana has been gaining legalization over the last half-decade or so and it looks like it is going to continue to grow over the next few years. Baltimore Ravens’ offensive tackle Eugene Monroe seems to be a huge proponent of it being legalized for both recreational and medicinal use.

He took to Twitter on Tuesday and went on a 30-plus tweet rant urging fellow players to donate to marijuana research. He shared graphics comparing marijuana to tobacco and alcohol.

Let's research how cannabinoids may help curb traumatic brain injury

If you're a player and you see this, you better stand up. It's about damn time

I'm not here advocating smoking weed for recreational purposes. However, smoking weed just may protect your brain

We're talking about funding RESEARCH!

You can see all of Eugene Monroe’s tweets on his personal Twitter account. It certainly looks like Monroe is a huge proponent of legalizing marijuana nationwide.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ravens or even the NFL speak with Monroe about his rant, especially after taking shots at Commissioner Roger Goodell. No matter how much he wants to see the drug get legalized, he is still a player in the league and he has to be careful with what he says on his personal social media accounts.
