Cameras catch Saint Joseph’s hiding Gatorade bottles

The NCAA Tournament is sponsored by some big time names in the sports world, one of them being sports drink Powerade. However, it doesn’t look like Saint Joseph’s is a big fan of the Coca-Cola brand of sports drink.

After the Hawks’ win over the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Round of 64 Friday night, cameras went to the team’s locker room. Those cameras caught head coach Phil Martelli instructing one of his players to hide Gatorade bottles that were sitting on a table.

That is pretty funny when you think about what the NCAA does with their corporate sponsors. There seems to always be a constant struggle between Gatorade and Powerade and which one is actually preferred.

The Hawks seem to swing away from the NCAA sponsor, but they still have to put up with it for the duration of their tournament run. I wonder if they will switch out the Powerade for Gatorade like the Florida women’s program.
