NFL Draft 2016: Titans have had conversations about trading No. 1 pick

The Tennessee Titans are the proud owners of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft … for now. According to reports, the the Titans have been open-minded about potentially moving the top pick in the draft at this year’s NFL Owners Meetings.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Titans went as far as to have “a couple of conversations” about a trade.

It would certainly be interesting and the Titans are in a great position.

If Tennessee holds on to the No. 1 pick, they could select a player like Laremy Tunsil of Ole Miss to protect last year’s first-rounder, Marcus Mariota. The Titans could also look at a defensive play-maker like Jalen Ramsey.

There is also the fact that pulling off a trade requires two sides. That is where it all falls into the Titans’ favor.

Everyone seems to know that the Cleveland Browns appear poised to take a quarterback with their first-round pick. So, if there is a team in love with either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz and wants to make sure they get the first crack at drafting their signal-caller of the future, a trade to the top pick could be their only way to guarantee the selection.

We will have to see how it all plays out as the draft approaches.
