The basketball world was shocked when longtime NBA television personality Craig Sager announced that he was no longer in remission and that he had only about three to six months to live. It has been a sad time for many NBA fans, but one decided to make the most of it and made an awesome lapel pin showing the relationship between Sager and San Antonio Spurs’ head coach Gregg Popovich.
The two have met up in on-court interviews countless times in the past and the pin shows off just how much the two love each other. What is better is that the pin is on sale for just $10 with 15 percent of it going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
If you don’t believe that their relationship is pretty awesome, this video of Popovich welcoming Craig Sager back to the court after his first bout with cancer will warm your heart and erase any of your doubt.
Sager began his career in 1972 working for a local television station in Sarasota, Florida. He has since stretched his reach to Turner Sports, where he has worked as a sports television host for CNN, TNT, and TBS since the early 1980s.
If Sager’s time on Earth is coming to an end, let us all hope he creates many more memories for everyone to remember and cherish for years to come.
