UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones has ran into a lot of trouble over the last year or so. Last April, he was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run when he was the light heavyweight champion and the number one fighter in the world.
He was stripped of his title and removed from the rankings following that arrest and suspended before being reinstated in October. He was arrested last week after a traffic stop where he was drag racing, a violation of his probation.
Luckily for Jones, he was released from jail on Thursday following a probationary hearing where he accepted anger management classes and was told he must get permission from his probation office to drive in the future. It looks like the judge, Michael Martinez, wants him to get his act straight very soon.
“Take this seriously,” Martinez warned Jones after his second traffic stop in the span of just three months.
This only serves as a distraction for Jon Jones, who is training for his UFC 197 matchup against Daniel Cormier, who defeated Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at UFC 187 last May to win the vacated title.
