South Carolina dismisses two from basketball program

After missing out on the 2016 NCAA Tournament, despite initially being told they were in the field, the South Carolina Gamecocks men’s basketball team announced the suspension of five players from the program.

On Monday, it was announced that two of the players, Eric Cobb and Jamall Gregory, have been dismissed.

TeMarcus Blanton, Chris Silva and Marcus Stroma remain suspended, but on the team.

Neither player contributed a significant amount in the Gamecocks’ 2016 campaign, but their dismissals is an obvious blow to the team’s depth.

What the future holds for Blanton, Silva and Stroma remains to be seen, but Cobb and Gregory can begin looking for a new home to continue their collegiate basketball careers.
