There is no doubting that that Paxton Lynch is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the 2016 NFL Draft. He is certainly looking like an answer for some team at the position and he seems excited to wrap up his draft recruiting process at the Memphis Pro Day in the coming days.
Lynch spoke with NFL.com’s “Path to the Draft” on Tuesday and he talked about getting his opportunity to show what he can do at his Pro Day, which takes place on Wednesday, April 6. He still believes that he is the best at his position and his ready to show that off.
Lynch continued to talk about the challenges he faces in the upcoming days and he says that he doesn’t want scouts to see his pro day as safe. He knows that there is a “high risk, high reward” aura surrounding his pro day.
“There’s a lot of challenging stuff in there. I didn’t want a pro day teams would consider to be on the safer side,” Lynch said. “I’ve got a lot of throws on there that show off my arm. There’s a few three-step throws in there, but that’s not a tough drop and I don’t think that’s really what teams are there to see. They want to see five-step, seven-step, play-action and all that. We’ll be moving the pocket and getting outside to show how I can throw on the run, and there’s a good amount of deep throws in there.”
During his career with the Tigers, Paxton Lynch threw for nearly 8,900 yards and 59 touchdowns while rushing for 687 yards and 17 touchdowns. He lost some of his stock near the end of the 2015 season, but he certainly has the chance to be a starter in the NFL and could end up going late in the first round.
