Earlier this week, Tyler Summitt, head coach of the Louisiana Tech women’s basketball team, announced his resignation from the team after rumors arose that he had inappropriate relations with one of the players and got her pregnant.
However, on Friday, Ashley Santos, one of the players in question, tweeted out a picture of her at practice, squashing the rumors.
She tweeted out the picture on Friday with the caption “Rumors squashed. Don’t talk about what you don’t know.” The picture showed off her stomach and it certainly seems like she was getting ready to hit court.

Ashley Santos transferred to Louisiana Tech from Marquette, where Summitt was an assistant coach from 2012-2014, along with Brooke Prumroy. The latter has already announced she will be forgoing her last year of eligibility and has not been heard from since. Prumroy is another name linked to the Summitt scandal.
USA TODAY spoke to Santos’ parents and they indicated that their daughter had not spoken to Prumroy.
“She hasn’t seen her. She hasn’t spoken to her. Nothing.”
Surely this won’t be the last we hear of this story.
