North Carolina wide receiver Ryan Switzer has shown that he is one of the most athletic talents in the country today and he is eager to show what he can do in his final season with the Tar Heels. He has even began looking forward to the 2017 NFL Draft, weeks before the 2016 installment even takes place.
He spoke with reporters recently and has said that he is pretty confident in his abilities. He even went so far as to say that being drafted early on next April wouldn’t be a surprise to him and is what he is expecting.
“I believe I’m a first-round talent,” Switzer says. “I believe I have the opportunity this year to show that.”
Switzer was second in receiving yards on the Tar Heels’ roster with 697 yards last season and is already the ACC’s leader for most punt return touchdowns with seven. He is just one away from tying the NCAA record held by Texas Tech’s Wes Welker and Oklahoma’s Antonio Perkins and two away from breaking it.
Ryan Switzer has all the right tools to be a great player at the next level. He may not be in line to win the starting job as a wide receiver, but there is no questioning that his ability to make plays on the special teams will attract many scouts over the next year.
Fans and scouts alike will get to see Switzer in action on September 3 when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
