Video: Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman throws out first pitch at Red Sox game

Three years ago, one of the worst sports tragedies in recent memory occurred when a handful of people were killed and hundreds more were injured in the bombing of the Boston Marathon. One of the people injured in the attack was Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs as a result.

He was a huge help in the search for the bombers and even helped the FBI identify one of the attackers. He has since gone on to write a memoir, which has been adapted into a film starring Jake Gyllenhall that releases in 2017.

Bauman was joined by Gyllenhall at the Boston Red Sox game on Monday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on the same day as the Boston Marathon. It was certainly an awesome and emotional sight to see.

Bauman is no stranger to this kind of spotlight. He was invited to throw out the first pitch at a game in May, just a month after the attack that left him with two prosthetic legs.

Jeff Bauman will always be remembered for his heroism on that fateful day in 2013. His courageousness in helping find the attackers is certainly appreciated by the city and he will always be heralded for it.
