UConn Huskies women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma got a health scare last week when he was hospitalized with an undisclosed illness. However, it seems to not be very serious as he was released from the hospital’s care Tuesday afternoon.
The legendary coach was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after boarding and then getting off a plane in Windsor Locks. He said he was not feeling well and decided to check himself into the hospital for evaluation.
He had been feeling sick for a few days and it even led to him missing his team’s victory parade earlier in the week. The Huskies were celebrating their 11th national title under Auriemma as they finished undefeated with an 82-51 victory over Syracuse in the title game on April 5.
Geno Auriemma has already said that he feels much better and should be ready to return to the team in the near future. The surefire Hall of Fame coach is 955-134 in 31 seasons with the Huskies.
