Track and field runners usually don’t get a ton of love for some of the amazing things they do in their sport, but this video shows exactly why they deserve more respect. Someone else that deserves more respect is the team of commentators who make the last lap of the race that much more awesome to watch.
One team in the 4×4 relay at the Irish University Athletics Association intervarsity games on Saturday was in fifth place entering the last leg of the race.
That is when Michelle Sinn, a surefire Olympian for the country of Ireland, came “from the depths of hell,” as the announcer put it, to win the race for her team.
You can skip to about the three-minute mark to watch the final lap in all its bloody Irish glory. I think the only thing that would have made this video that much better.
