The Florida Gators may put a lot of players into the NFL every year, but it also seems that they produce the most busts each year. USA TODAY Sports’ For The Win compiled a list of schools with the most busts in the NFL the last 15 years and it was pretty telling for the Gators.
The numbers they compiled did not include the players to bust from the 2015 NFL Draft as many of them have not had enough time to actually be considered busts. However, the top six teams from the Power Five conferences still have some pretty telling figures.
Florida leads the pack with 15 first-round draft picks and eight busts from those with Penn State, Oklahoma State, Florida State, North Carolina, and Wisconsin following them.
On the other side of the list, two of the Gators’ biggest rivals had the least number of busts. The Miami Hurricanes have put 26 players into the NFL in the first round and have only had four of them end up as busts while the Tennessee Volunteers have put 13 players into the first round with only three of them ending up being busts.
Usually teams would love to be at the top of anything, but this is one the Gators would rather be at the bottom of at this point.
