Report: Jerry Jones wants Cowboys to draft Ezekiel Elliott

If you are a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and hoping for the team to make a splash with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft next week, you could be in luck.

We know that Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones likes the shiny things in life, so it should come as no surprise that he prefers his team take a flashy option on offense in the form of Ohio State Buckeyes star running back Ezekiel Elliott.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, Jones wants to create a modern day version of “The Triplets” — Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin — which helped lead the team to so much success in the 90’s.

If Elliott is the pick for Dallas, he is set up for success with the best offensive line in the NFL in front of him.

Of course, the Cowboys could always decide to go in another direction with so many holes on the defensive side of the ball, so it will be interesting to see who wins out in the war room. If Jones gets his wish, it looks like Elliott will be the pick.
