The saga of former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel continues to just spiral out of control. He was never arrested for his alleged assault of ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley, but it was reported that he had been indicted by a Dallas County Grand Jury on Sunday.
According to CBS in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the charge for Manziel is a misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charge. Crowley had accused him of hitting her several times while driving back to her home in Fort Worth.
Manziel had allegedly dragged her back to the car after she tried to jump out while it was moving. He was never arrested, but police presented evidence to the Grand Jury, which has led to their indictment.
The 23-year-old Johnny Manziel now must stay at least 500 feet away from Crowley until at least February 3, 2018 and has to pay $12,500 in attorney fees.
If there was ever was a reason to not sign Manziel, this is certainly the proverbial nail in his NFL career’s coffin.
