NFL Draft 2016: Tyler Boyd a ‘NFL-ready route runner’

There are a large number of wide receivers that can make a big impact in the 2016 NFL Draft almost immediately this year and up to five could be drafted in the first round. Former Pittsburgh receiver Tyler Boyd might not be the top player available, but he is certainly getting a lot of buzz.

NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt recently listed seven players that should be getting talked about more in the draft next week and Boyd was one of them. He had a lot of good things to say about the receiver and called him a “NFL-ready route runner.”

Brandt talked about how Boyd makes up for his lack of speed in what he can actually do on the field. In just three years, he recorded 5,243 all-purpose yards, which second all-time to NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett.

That is a pretty impressive stat to have especially since Dorsett is one of the best Panthers to ever take the field. Tyler Boyd certainly seems to be on the correct path to take over as a great player in the NFL.
