The 2016 NFL Draft is just a few days away, so you can expect to see a whole lot of mock drafts over that span. SI.com’s Peter King released his latest Monday morning and he reported that the Cleveland Browns could be getting themselves a quarterback in Paxton Lynch.
He went through each team’s needs and even predicted that the Tennessee Titans would move back up into the top five by swapping picks with the Jacksonville Jaguars and getting Laremy Tunsil, who was their pick from the start. He then suggested that the Browns would take offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, but not before mentioning that Lynch is a huge possibility for them.
“Lots of buzz that coach Hue Jackson likes Paxton Lynch and is advocating for the Memphis quarterback, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see a trade down (maybe for a team to move up for Myles Jack or Eli Apple), with Cleveland ending up with an extra second-round pick in a draft packed with second-round and third-round value,” King said.
Later in the draft, he had the Browns making a trade with the Seattle Seahawks and being able to land Lynch at No. 26. This would be huge for the team as they want to at least have some kind of competition at the quarterback position.
Jackson is known as a offensive guru and he could help build up Lynch or even Robert Griffin III, who signed with the team last month. It could be very interesting to see what the team is going to do over the next few days.
