In the months leading up to the draft, Ezekiel Elliot has been projected to go to teams like the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys. Many, including past NFL executive Greg Gabriel, believe he will go to the latter this 2016 NFL Draft.
It’s no secret that Elliott is the most explosive running back in the draft, and the Cowboys could certainly get more wins with him on the roster.
“The head coach is pushing hard for that pick”, Gabriel said.
This move is something that would make Jerry Jones very happy, considering the past picks he has made in previous drafts.
Gabriel tweeted this message on Thursday, claiming that the league as a whole anticipated that the Cowboys would pick up Elliot:
The feeling around the league is Cowboys will select Elliott. The HC is pushing hard for that pick

With the Cowboys at No. 4, it’s looking like a toss up between Elliott and Joey Bosa. Some also believe that the team may try to pick up cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Jerry Jones’ team has been known to throw a few surprises on draft day, so we can truly expect to see anything happen.
