The Penn State Nittany Lions are looking to improve off of their 2015 season that saw them finish 7-5 and advance to the TaxSlayer Bowl. they will have to do so without defensive tackle Kamonte Carter after he was kicked off the team.
Rivals.com reported that Carter was dismissed from the team a little over a week ago with the news become public on Saturday. A spokesperson stated a violation of undisclosed team rules as the cause.
“Kam Carter was informed on April 21 that he is no longer a member of the Penn State football team for a violation of team rules,” the spokesperson said. “We appreciate Kam’s contributions to the program and wish him success in the future.”
Kamonte Carter was a four-star member of the team’s 2015 recruiting class and was the fifth-ranked player in the state of Maryland as a defensive end. He was converted into a defensive tackle after taking a redshirt his freshman year.
