DeMarco Murray apparently ‘loved’ Derrick Henry pick

When the Tennessee Titans selected Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, it came as a bit of a shock since the team acquired former NFL rushing champion DeMarco Murray via trade during the offseason.

However, it looks like Murray is just fine with the pick.

According to Titans coach Mike Mularkey, Murray “loved” the team’s decision to select the former Alabama star. Mularkey also said the team confirmed to Murray that they still plan on heavily featuring him in the offense.

“I told DeMarco, ‘Nothing has changed since we made the trade for you. You’re still going to be the guy who is going to carry the load for us,'” Mularkey said, via TitansOnline.com.

Of course, that could all change during the season if Henry ends up excelling with his touches.

But for the duo to work out best, Murray should receive a bulk of the carries with Henry earning touches late in games, in short-yardage situations and near the goal line.
