Kentucky Derby odds 2016: Who is favored to win?

This weekend marks the beginning of the 2016 Triple Crown season, so the Kentucky Derby odds are coming out at a rapid rate. And with the amazing story of American Pharoah becoming the first horse since Affirmed in 1978 to win the Triple Crown, there is more excitement than ever.

As we approach the 2016 running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in south Louisville, Nyquist leads the field as the favorite with 10-3 odds.

Just behind Nyquist is Exaggerator and Mohaymen, who have been given 8-to-1 odds for Saturday’s big race. Rounding out the top five favorites for the 2016 Kentucky Derby are Gun Runner (10-to-1) and Brody’s Cause (12-to-1).

This year’s longshots are Whitmore and Tom’s Ready, both drawing 50-to-1 odds for the race.
