Report: Teams were interested in Peyton Manning for 2016 season

NFL legend Peyton Manning’s career came to an end after he helped the Denver Broncos win Super Bowl 50 over the Carolina Panthers. He likely won’t be involved in the sport for the foreseeable future, but it certainly looks like there were teams that hope to keep him around.

Football agent Tom Condon appeared on The Business of Sports with Andrew Brandt on Tuesday and talked about Manning and what his future almost was. He said that there were several teams interested in possibly bringing Manning in for the 2016 season.

There was no reason given as to why Manning never made a deal with another team to play this year, but it is pretty clear that several teams wanted to bring him in for one more season.

Peyton Manning will likely never pull a Brett Favre and come out of retirement to play one more year, but he will certainly be involved with the sport in some fashion in the future.

Don’t be surprised to see Manning eventually return to the sport as a coach or front-office member for some lucky franchise.
