More reports of a sequel to the popular 1990s film “Space Jam” came out on Monday and it certainly looks like fans will get what they’ve always wanted with LeBron James as the star.
To honor that, TNT decided to give a montage of NBA TV analyst Charles Barkley’s role in the movie, but not everyone was impressed.
Fellow analyst Shaquille O’Neal began laughing after the montage ended and even went so far as to say “That’s worser than ‘Kazaam’,” harping on the terrible movie he starred in at about the same time as “Space Jam” found its popularity.
He then mocked Barkley’s actions on the court after he had his talent “stolen” by the invading aliens.
We expect the sequel of this film to feature current NBA superstars (Blake Griffin, anyone?) so Charles Barkley likely won’t be getting another call to reprise his role in the film.
For now, however, we just have the sweet memories of a movie that was great when we were kids, but now it’s pretty laughable.
