UNLV basketball staff complete with three new hires

A wild start to the offseason for the UNLV basketball program seems to finally have settled down. After Chris Beard left for Texas Tech without having much time to even move into his UNLV office, the Rebels hired former New Mexico State coach Marvin Menzies.

This week, the remaining three vacancies on Menzies first coaching staff in Las Vegas has been completed.

According to a release from the school, the Rebels have hired Andre La Fleur, Rob Jeter and Eric Brown. All three men have years of experience coaching at the collegiate level.

The most seasoned of the new assistants is La Fleur, who spent ten seasons at Connecticut under head coach Jim Calhoun. La Fleur has also spent the last five seasons as the associate head coach at Providence.

Jeter also has some major experience, serving as the head coach at Milwaukee for 11 seasons. Jeter accumulated a record of 185-170 during his time with the Panthers. As for Brown, he has been an assistant coach at Long Beach State the last nine years.
