Mother’s Day is always a special one for the players in the MLB. Most of the players have their mothers in attendance for their game on the day and do some pretty unique things. I mean, who can forget Dallas Braden’s perfect game nearly six years ago to the day?
It looks like star Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander will do something special for his mother. He shared a picture of the pink cleats he will wear for his day on the mound tomorrow afternoon against the Texas Rangers in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

It certainly takes a man’s man to wear cleats with pink trim and a floral pattern on them. Of course, it is for a good cause and there is such a thing called karma.
Maybe the special cleats and his mother’s support will help Justin Verlander turn things around. His ERA shot up to 6.95 after allowing seven runs in five innings during his last start.
