On Saturday, Florida State Seminoles running back Mario Pender was arrested for domestic battery and resisting an officer without violence. Shortly after the news surfaced, Pender was booted from the team.
Today, details of Pender’s arrest were revealed and they are incredibly shocking.
According to Safid Deen of the Tallahassee Democrat, was found by police on top of a woman with his hands around her neck. There are also reports that Pender had hit the woman and dragged her by her hair.
It is pretty easy to see why Pender was kicked off of the team.
There is no place for anything like this and head coach Jimbo Fisher had to act quickly. Considering all of the issues Florida State players have had in the past, Fisher needs to once again talk to his team and figure out a way to hold them accountable and have them act like respectable, responsible young men.
