The Oakland Raiders seem to be on the verge of moving out of the city and possibly to Las Vegas. It looks like at least one high-ranking official in the city believes the team will end up playing on the strip very soon.
Mayor Carol Goodman spoke with ESPN and implied that Raiders owner Mark Davis isn’t just using the city as a ploy for a new stadium. She believes that the team will end up in Las Vegas sooner rather than later.
“Mark Davis has assured us that Las Vegas is not getting played in a Raiders stadium deal,” Goodman said. “I know we will have a team.”
Goodman wants to see a team end up in her city, which they have been trying to do for years. She said that it is going to happen as long as the state takes the proper steps in doing such.
“The Raiders will come if Nevada handles this properly,” Goodman said.
Oakland was in line to move to Los Angeles earlier this year, but lost out to the now Los Angeles Rams and San Diego Chargers. Now, Las Vegas and possibly San Antonio seems like strong candidates to land the team.
