The Indianapolis Colts struggled during the 2015 season, playing three different quarterbacks due to starter Andrew Luck dealing with a number of injuries. However, he is looking to get his 2016 season underway and wants to help his team back to the playoffs and the AFC South division title.
Many believed that the Colts might hold Luck back some to keep him from re-injuring his ribs. New offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer spoke with CBS4 in Indianapolis on Wednesday and said that the team would let him play his game.
“We’re not going to change the way Andrew plays,” Schottenheimer said. “Andrew’s going to play the game. You’ve got to let Andrew play.”
Since being the first overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, Andrew Luck has been one of the more consistent quarterbacks in the AFC. He threw for over 4,300 yards in his rookie season and over 4,700 yards in 2014.
Due to injuries, he only played in seven games in 2015, in which he threw for 1,881 yards and 15 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. He could end up being a park of their success going into the 2016 season.
