Virginia Tech Hokies basketball player Devin Wilson has decided to try his hand at football, with the team announcing the guard will be on the roster for the upcoming season.
Wilson showed that his jumping skills and athletic ability is already going to make a difference for the team going forward when he made a pretty impressive play at practice against a cornerback.
Wilson has one more year of eligibility to play both football and basketball, so you could expect to see him star on both the gridiron and hardwood. He should be able to take his leadership skills from the court and put them to good use for the football team.
During the 2015-16 season, Devin Wilson averaged 9.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds for the Hokies.
Let’s see if the former high school quarterback is able to do much of the same for the football team this year.
The Hokies open the season against Liberty on September 3.
