Syracuse G Malachi Richardson, Kansas F Cheick Diallo staying in NBA Draft

Players still have until mid-June to withdraw their names from the NBA Draft and return to school this fall, but it looks like we know at least two players who won’t be doing so. Syracuse guard Malachi Richardson and Kansas forward Cheick Diallo will both reportedly keep their names in the draft this year and won’t be returning to school.

ESPN NBA insider Chad Ford reported the news on Friday and them staying in probably has a lot to do with them being projected first round picks.

Both Richardson and Diallo spent just one season at their respective schools. The former averaged 13.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Orange, while the latter had a disappointing season with just 3.1 points and 2.5 rebounds across 27 games.

Both players seems to have a ton of potential as they are expected to be drafted in the first round. Malachi Richardson is projected to go to the Denver Nuggets at No. 19 and Cheick Diallo is expected to go to the Atlanta Hawks at No. 21.
