After Syracuse dismissal, Qaadir Sheppard lands at Ole Miss

The Ole Miss Rebels lost star defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche to the NFL Draft and are looking for his replacement. They may have just received that in the form of former Syracuse defensive end Qaadir Sheppard.

Sheppard was dismissed by the Orange after failing two drug tests during the 2015 season and was suspended for the last two games of the season and the first four of 2016.

After visiting with the Rebels two months ago, the rising sophomore decided to transfer to Oxford.

Qaadir Sheppard played nine games during his true freshman season and recorded just two tackles and an interception. He was a three-star member of the Orange’s 2015 recruiting class and was also being recruited by Boston College, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Virginia.

He will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2017 and he sits out the 2016 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
