Syracuse G Trevor Cooney campaigning to be next AD

Syracuse lost its athletic director Mark Coyle to Minnesota after just one year with the school and they are now looking for someone else to take over. Trevor Cooney, a former guard with the basketball team, has wasted little time to throw his name into the hat.

Cooney just wrapped up his career with the Orange after helping them to two Final Four appearances. He teased applying to be the new AD with a screenshot of a Google search of those requirements.

He was a pretty good player for the Orange during his career as he averaged 10.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in four years with the team. He also has the support of former teammate and 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams.

Trevor Cooney will likely, in reality, head overseas to play pro basketball as he awaits his chance to play in the NBA. However, if his professional career doesn’t work out, he could certainly have a future as an AD with his Alma Mater.
