Video: Jose Bautista gets punched, Rangers-Blue Jays clear benches

There was an ugly scene during Sunday afternoon’s meeting between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers, with Toronto star Jose Bautista taking the most damage from an altercation.

Bautista aggressively slid into second base which clearly irked Texas’ Rougned Odor.

After a few words were exchanged, Bautista and Odor came face-to-face with the Rangers infielder delivering a hard punch right on the chin. You can see the full video below:

Naturally, ejections were aplenty.

It was an ugly scene on the diamond and one that Major League Baseball will not be fond of.

It will be interesting to see whether Bautista is suspended for his aggressive slide, but we can likely guarantee Odor will be receiving a lengthy suspension for his stiff overhand right that sent Bautista’s glasses flying to the ground.
