Whenever you go to a professional sporting event, you can expect to empty your wallet not only on souvenirs and tickets, but also on food and alcohol. However, the Atlanta Falcons are trying to change that at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The stadium is set to open with the 2017 NFL season and with the opening comes a new and innovative plan at the concessions stand.
On Monday, the team announced a “fan-first menu” that will offer a number of items for $2 from sodas, with free refills at self-serve stations, to hot dogs and pretzels. Even an ice cold beer will cost just $5.
Fans will also have the luxury of purchasing pizza and nachos, among other items, for $3. Team president Rich McKay said that the menu prices will be available for other events at the stadium, not just Falcons’ games.
“It keeps ranking as the lowest satisfaction in all the surveys, whether that’s the league survey or our own survey,” McKay said. “Amazingly, it’s not one we’ve been able to move the needle in, so we’re going to try.”
It looks like the Falcons are taking a big step forward to make things more affordable for fans of the NFL. People are likely going to flock to Mercedes-Benz Stadium next year.
