ESPN releases kickoff times for opening weekend

The 2016 college football season is set to have one of the best opening weekends in a very long time and ESPN will have all the action throughout their family of networks. On Monday, they released the kickoff times for the biggest games of the weekend on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC.

With premiere match-ups like LSU taking on Wisconsin at Lambeau Field, USC facing off against Alabama at AT&T Stadium, and Ole Miss and Florida State meeting up at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, it should be a fun weekend for all college football fans.

The opening weekend actually starts on Thursday, September 1 when South Carolina takes on Vanderbilt at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN. Saturday, September 3 is also full of fun football, which begins with Boston College and Georgia Tech facing off in Dublin, Ireland with a 7:30 a.m. EST kickoff on ESPN2.

There is a tripleheader later on that day with Oklahoma and Houston facing off at noon EST on ABC, Hawaii and Michigan playing at noon EST on ESPN, and LSU and Wisconsin beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

Georgia and North Carolina face off from the Georgia Dome at 5:30 p.m. EST on ESPN. Alabama and USC play in the first game of the nightcap at 8 p.m. on ABC with Auburn and Clemson facing off at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN.

On Sunday, September 4, Notre Dame and Texas face off in Austin on ABC at 7:30 p.m. EST. Ole Miss and Florida State close out opening weekend on Monday, September 5 at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN.

The entire schedule of kickoff times will be released later on this summer, but these are the biggest games of opening weekend. It should be a fun weekend for all fans who love good college football.
