Lightning hopeful for Ben Bishop return in East final

Tampa Bay Lightning goalkeeper Ben Bishop suffered a pretty scary injury when he collided with Patric Hornqvist during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Lightning made due with Andrei Vasilevskiy in the net and won Game 1 3-1 and nearly pulled off a second big win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 2.

The team is now confident that Bishop will be able to return to the ice before the end of the series, that is guaranteed to go at least five games right now. Having Bishop back on the ice would be huge for the team.

Ben Bishop is one of the more consistent goalies in the NHL today. He has won more games than any other in the league over the last three years and has cut his goals-against average down to just 2.06 this season.

The Lightning return home to Tampa Bay to host the Penguins in Game 3 of the series on Wednesday with the game being televised live on NBC Sports at 8 p.m. EST.
