Ohio State’s Trevor Thompson withdraws from NBA Draft, returning to Buckeyes

After testing the 2016 NBA Draft waters, Ohio State big man Trevor Thompson has decided to withdraw his name from consideration and return to the Buckeyes for the upcoming season.

ESPN’s Jeff Goodman was first to report the news.

Last season as a sophomore, Thompson averaged 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He averaged 17.9 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-11, 250 pound center was never invited to the NBA Combine, so his decision to return to school really doesn’t come as a surprise. Returning to the Buckeyes for his junior season could be exactly what the doctor ordered for his draft stock.

Only time will tell.
