Anquan Boldin likely to not sign with 49ers for 2016 season

For the past three seasons, Anquan Boldin was the San Francisco 49ers’ top wideout. But now, it appears that there is no longer any love between the 49ers and currently unsigned free agent Anquan Boldin, via CSN Bay Area.

Boldin and 49ers coach Chip Kelly have not even spoken to each other since early this year, back in the month of February.

The team seems to be totally uninterested in attempting to re-sign the wide receiver at this point, and has moved on with other players. They will be using Torrey Smith going forward, as well as looking at a number of competitive younger players such as Eric Rogers and Deandre Smelter.

If Kelly finds himself unimpressed by Rogers, Smelter, and other young team members he has on roster, the 49ers will probably try to seek a deal with Boldin. But for the meantime, we can expect to see the San Francisco team and Boldin continue to go their seperate ways.

Boldin is expected to continue pursuing a position with another team for the upcoming season.
