The Duke Blue Devils are looking to get back into contention in the ACC after advancing to the ACC Championship Game in 2013. However, they will likely have some trouble doing that after losing a key piece of their 2017 recruiting class in linebacker Ellis Brooks.
Brooks, who committed to the Blue Devils in late March, announced on Twitter that he would be pulling his commitment to Duke off the table re-opening his recruiting process. The four-star linebacker is No. 230 on the Rivals250 list.

Ellis Brooks, a Richmond Benedictine School star, currently holds offers from Virginia Tech, East Carolina, Charlotte, and Indiana. He is the No. 16 inside linebacker in the country and the No. 7 overall player in the state of Virginia.
It certainly looks like the Blue Devils’ loss is going to be some other team’s gain in the near future.
